Hard Candy . . .
Madonna just gets more and more fabulous with time. I wish I knew how she does it. Go buy this album. Now.
Miss E's Sneak Peek . . .
Our new website for high school seniors is on its way. In the meantime, enjoy the fabulous Miss E's sneak peek right here. (If you're on a mac -- sorry. This particular slideshow can only be viewed on a PC. That's the software manufacturer's call -- not ours. For a mac-friendly version, please visit our senior blog.
So Fabulous . . .
We had the real pleasure of photographing Miss E over the weekend. She and her mom came from over an hour away to have E's senior pictures made. We loved the time we spent with them and we hope they feel it was worth the trip! And if you're a high school senior (or if you know someone who is) don't forget to stop by our senior blog.
Calling All Indie Brides . . .
You know the type: she knows who she is and what she wants in life and in her wedding. Her wedding day is about her new marriage, her friends, and her family and it is not necessarily about rules and regulations that other people have invented for her. This bride likes to do things her way. She has style and spirit, wit and charm, and she wants those things reflected in her wedding ceremony and reception. Finding the right photographer is also very important to her.
If you are that bride, or if you know that bride, then I want to talk to you.
We have a select number of dates left to fill in 2008 and I would like to photograph as many "indie" weddings as I possibly can. Some of them may be included in a special project that I have in mind for 2009.
What is an "indie" wedding? Wonderfully, I believe there's no definition that's set in stone. The independent bride does not have a certain age, budget, or style. What she does have is fierce independence and a desire to do things that follow her own fashion. She is modern, fun-loving, and full of wonderful ideas that she will use to personalize her wedding day.
If this describes you, and if you are getting married in 2008, email me now and tell me about your wedding plans. If you are open to giving your photographer complete creative freedom, I would love to talk with you about how we can work together.
I'm looking forward to hearing from you!
The Tudors . . .
One of the very few good things about being too sick to get out of bed is having the chance to catch up on some of those unwatched DVDs I've got lying about.
If you know me at all, you know that I'm not very big on TV. I can't tell you a single thing about the Idols, the Top Models, or the Dancing Stars. And I kind of like it like that. That said, I was very pleased to receive the boxed set of Showtime's The Tudors as a belated Christmas gift. Unfortunately, it sat unopened until last week because I haven't had the time to get into it.
What a wonderful treat it turned out to be! I loved Jonathan Rhys Meyers as King Henry VIII (well really, ladies -- what's not to like?) and the story, although not entirely accurate in historical terms, moves along wonderfully well. Add beautiful photography and to-die-for costumes to the mix and you have a winner.
Season Two is currently airing on Showtime, but I'll wait until the next boxed set comes out later this year. Enjoy --but please be reminded that nudity and sexual situations make this one strictly adult fare.
Sick . As. A. Dog. . .
Alas. The flu that I thought I got rid of at Christmas is back with a vengeance. I am sick, sick, sick.
I've been in bed for most of this week and I am just exhausted. If you have tried to call or email me, I will be in touch as soon as I can. I have one client (and you know who you are) who needs a special surprise project completed by mid month. I want you to know that we're doing everything we can to accommodate you. For the rest of you, I will be in touch just as soon as I feel a bit better.
Thanks so much for your understanding.
